31 Days of German Riesling

We are enthusiastic supporters of the 31 Days of German Riesling, an initiative by Wines of Germany, celebrated in July. As many of you know, we at The Winery are fairly strict observers of “365 Days Of German Riesling” and, as someone pointed out recently, 366 every Leap Year.

Here’s what we lined-up for July 2015.
Two new 6-bottle selections:

Here’s what we did for the 31 Days of German Riesling 2013.

1 Our monthly tasting exclusively featured German Riesling.

2 We held a tasting for wine writers Jancis Robinson, Kate Spicer and Daniel Keeling from Noble Rot. We were also joined by friends from the wine trade and the Acting German Ambassador, Rudolf Georg.

3 A Riesling Dinner at Hardy’s Brasserie.

4 The Winery’s David Motion was guest at Noble Fine Liqour in Broadway Market E8 for their German Riesling tasting.

5 A Wine Course Module on German Riesling at Kandoo Restaurant. Gerrit Walter from Briedel on the Mosel joined us as a guest, as did Ursula Heinzelmann, the Food and Wine Writer from Berlin.

Liz Sagues wrote us up in Ham & High.

Bob Tyrer recommended Gerrit Walter’s Riesling trocken in his column in The Sunday Times on 28th July.
